REGIME command showing the BTC open interest z-score with sigma bands

Typing it

REGIMESymbolMetricModeLookbackinterval=
>REGIMEBTC funding pct 30d
Shows where BTC funding ranks against its recent history.

What you see

  • Line. The score through time, coloured by the latest reading.
  • Bands. Plus and minus 1, 2 and 3 sigma for Z and MZ; the matching percentiles for PCT; minus 10% and 25% for DD.
  • Toolbar. coin, metric, mode and lookback, so any of the five verbs reaches any view.

Verbs and arguments

Z
Rolling z-score against the lookback mean. Opens REGIME in this mode.
PCT
Percentile rank, 0 to 100, against the lookback. Opens REGIME in this mode.
MZ
Modified z-score, from the median and MAD, so one outlier bar does not move the baseline. Opens REGIME in this mode.
DD
Percent below the rolling high. Opens REGIME in this mode.

Good to know

  • A z-score assumes a fairly stable history. After a real regime shift it can look extreme for a while before the baseline catches up.
