Questions before you connect?
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the emerging standard for connecting AI assistants to live external data and tools. Instead of guessing from training data, your assistant calls a real endpoint and gets a real, current answer back.
Do I need to write any code?
No. Paste the server URL into Claude, Cursor, or VS Code and sign in with your BackQuant account. For clients without sign-in support, send your existing API key as a bearer token instead.
Which plans include MCP?
Crypto API, Terminal + API, and Terminal Yearly (at starter limits) are all eligible. Terminal Monthly on its own does not include API or MCP access.
What happens if my plan isn't eligible?
The client tells you during sign-in rather than failing silently mid-conversation. Trial accounts don't qualify.
Can I see or revoke what I’ve connected?
Yes - manage and revoke connected apps anytime from your API dashboard. Revoking kills the live tokens immediately, not at the next expiry.
